July 28, 2017 Report

Abel is the agent for Jose, short-stop for the Reds and he boarded this morning with Jose and pitcher Luis. We started with some fast action on jacks which also served as bait for shark fishing later on and then we headed to the flats for some shark week action. After having our fill of jacks as staked off on the flats and hooked four sharks and finally landing one at the end of the trip. It was a fun day and these guys were great!

I made it back to the dock today and that was in itself a victory. Brothers Colby and Blake boarded for a full day of keeping the rods bent. A few tarpon and snook spots were slow so we hit a jack spot and caught the daylights out of them. We then decided to hot the flats for sharks and that lasted all but 10 minutes as severe storms quickly materialised and forced us to call it a day early. The run back threw 45 MPH winds and white out rain conditions for the last 2 miles and it was an adventure. Capt. Locals Eric and his dad Doc joined me today for a half day of catching dinner so off we went. They caught trout but no keepers and spot number three proved slow as well so we went south where they finally kept snappers for a fresh fish dinner. Capt. The fishing finally turned on in Biscayne Bay and Jeri and her daughter Rylee were aboard to reap the benefits. Today was a primarily fly day for Jeri and a spin day for Rylee. Tarpon was on the list and after a few spots with very few fish we changed it up so they could both catch some fish before we moved on to the flats. Jeri kept count and landed 14 jacks on fly with Rylee taking a break after 4 of her own. With bait caught we hot the flats where they each landed a shark before calling it a day. Great day with great ladies. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

Today was a fly/spin day with local Matias and his father in law Jose from Argentina. Today was a generally slow day but we managed to catch fish throughout the day and lost a couple of nice fish on fly. Capt. July 12, 2017 AM & PM Reports (Tarpon video!)

A.M. report My morning trip was with Brian and his wife Lenay from Texas who are here for the MLB All-Star game and they wanted to catch snook or tarpon. With a few spots holding Tarpon the last week or so we got some bait and bran to the first spot and had Bates in the water first thing in the morning. It didn't take long for Brian to hook up and nice fish in the 40 lb class that gave us a bunch of jumps in a long fight a medium tackle. After a very cool fight and a bunch of jumps Brian got his fish next to the boat for the release and off it went. On our second attempt Lenay hooks up pretty quickly and also fights for fish in the 60 lb class bringing it to the boat and getting her picture with her fish. What a way to start the morning going to 42 on Tarpon each of them getting their fish and big smiles all around the boat. PM Report My afternoon trip was with Brandon and his son Colby who were also from Texas and here for the MLB All-Star game. We went to a second Tarpon spot for our first fishing spot of the trip and Brandon hooked up a tarp and right next to the boat that ate one of our live baits in awesome fashion. One big jump right next to the boat later the tarpon spits the hook and we're back to square one. Colby caught a nice Snapper at that spot and then we were off because the fishing slow down. Hitting the grass Flats they caught a bunch of trout before having to call the trip early because of severe weather that moved in. Capt. Brian and his girlfriend join me today for a full day of fishing the flats for Bonefish. However conditions were tough once again with prodigal visibility and some significant wind. We caught several species and try different types of fishing waiting for the cloud cover that clear to no avail so we ended up catching Jacks and other species while we waited for the cloud cover to clear. We finally made the decision to hit the flats but with poor visibility to Target sharks instead of Bonefish. We set up and immediately had sharks around the boat which were easier to spot the big brown Shadows then the small silver ghost like shapes of Bonefish. And no time they had hooked six or seven sharks and landed five or six. Right at the end on our run back the cloud cover finally started to lift. Go figure! Capt. July 7, 2017 Report (Video)

Today was day two of Jessie and I decided to make a long run down to the Northern end of Key Largo to find Bonefish since the northern part was slow yesterday. Today conditions were pretty tough with a big tide wind and practically zero visibility. However we pressed on and made the long run down an hour later pulling in to a little Cove that I like under these conditions. Pulling into plus feet of water it was hard to spot fish but we ended up finding about five or six schools having shots at most of them and having Jesse dropped a flight perfectly into a school hooking up instantly only to have the leader break on us. As the tide increased we had no choice but to change tactics and move down to other flats. Jesse wanted to catch a barracuda so we pulled into a barracuda spot and while they were ignoring a traditional Barracuda Lord lawyers in he mediately hooked up to a nice Cuda. We wrapped up the day catching Jack's on Spin and fly and that was a blast! Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

Today is day one of two days fishing with Jesse. We were going to stick to strictly fly for two days and we started off with parpan. Although we found Tarpon we could not get them to eat a fly so we moved on and hit the flats for Bonefish. I fished the Northern end of Bonefish territory in that proved to be slow. We ended the day with several shots at Bonefish but no hookups. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

Today the fishing was back on track and Nathan, Reed and Elijah were the beneficiaries. Elijah was the man of the day catching trout, jacks, snapper, grouper, sharks and a massive yellow jack. Several times we had triple headers going on and the guys were smiling big time. I love it!

June 30, 2017 Report

Today I fished with local anglers Bob and Johnathan. The last time we fished Bob got a big tarpon, Johnathan lost a bog permit next to the boat and we wrapped up the day with numerous shots at bonefish. But, today was a different day with different conditions. Yesterday the fishing was going off and today with high winds and limited areas to fish we found ourselves on the slow end of a fishing day. While the guys caught some fish, we couldn't bonefish and there were no snook or permit making their presence. We did find some tarpon but they were mixed in with small black tip sharks and the sharks would not let the tarpon get to our baits. We are already planning the next outing. Capt.
