June 7, 2015 Report

Philip and his son Kristen are locals but don't fish as often as they would like. Today however, that would change. The first spot was slow but spot number two produced right away and we didn't have to move the rest of the trip. Kristen eventually had to take a break from the hot action and Philip caught a nice shark that kept circling the wreck. Philip and Kristen decided to head in early and Philip's comment to me was "you kicked his butt." That's what it's all about! Capt. Today was the last day Paul and Neil would be fishing before going back to Maryland and as always we had a blast. While we didn't hook any tarpon today, we did mix it up and caught a number of different species on lighter tackle. I can't wait for them to come down again next year. Capt. The Paul and Neil show continued today and the fishing kept slowing down. However, we did hook a tarpon and Paul fought it for a bit until the hook pulled during the final stages of the fight. The day ended by fishing a few wrecks for snapper. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBonefishing

June 4, 2015 Report (Tarpon!)

With the weather forecast looking absolutely horrible we made the call to cancel our trip on Wednesday only to find great weather. Urgh! Oh well, we hit the water today and Paul got another nice tarpon to the boat while Neil lost a few others to spit hooks. These guys are great and tomorrow we continue our adventures.

Day two with Paul and Neil and the tarpon fishing was slow. Amazing how things change one day to the next! We did get a hook up but lost the fish after a brief fight. Changing tactics we caught trout and snappers before continuing our tarpon adventure tomorrow. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

June 1, 2015 Report (Tarpon!)

Paul and Neil fished with me for 5 days last year and we had a blast last year so I couldn't wait to fish with them again. We started early and had a solid day going 2-7 on tarpon with both Paul and Neil getting their fish of the week at around 140-150lbs each. We had a blast, the tarpon bite was on and hooked into some real bruisers. This is what tarpon season is all about!

May 31, 2015 Report

Local angler and regular client Alec and his brother Kevin were aboard this morning for a chance at bonefish, tarpon and permit. The early morning began tarpon fishing but with 3 hours fading without a bite we ran down to the flats. Things were slower than anticipated but at the end a school of big mudding bonefish pops up. I point them out, Alec sees them, makes a precision cast and I see the school move over the bait and mud! I scream "reel!", Alec reels and comes tight to a big bonefish. The school spooks into the channel and his fish follows, peeling line at break neck speed. Suddenly the fish does a 180 and heads towards a stretch of coral heads and before I could jump off the platform and follow the fish with the motor he cut us off. NO! We ended the day with a shot at a nice permit. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing
