June 24, 2015 Report
Locals Diaa and his girlfriend Leandra jumped aboard for a half day trip of inshore fishing, something they had not done before. Although the fishing was generally slow we did catch sea trout and an assortment of snappers throughout the bay. These were fun folks that I look forward to fishing with again.

Josh and James joined me today on a 3/4 day charter under gorgeous skies. We found some early morning redfish but no hook ups. Switching tactics we fished for trout and had some nice fish on but lost them all. The day ended with countless shots at tailing redfish in super shallow water.

Cousins Basil, John and Jorge are from N.J. and never go fishing so they wanted to try something new and fishing would be the activity of the day. These guys were a blast and Basil kept count of every fish in order to ensure an accurate count to determine the winner for the day. Well, turns out Basil had the biggest and the most fish of the day; until John reeled in the biggest trout of the day. Jorge yelled out that the car ride back would be much more tolerable now! the fishing was good but the company was better, these guys were fun!

After a much needed vacation, I was back on the water today with Josh. We were looking for tarpon but found very few and got no bites. So, with half the trip almost over we decided to change tactics. Fishing a small tarpon and snook spot Josh caught a few jacks on artificial when one of the rods goes off and line starts to scream. At the end of the battle a massive snook came aboard and filled two objectives at once, Josh's first snook and his biggest. Ok Josh, time to check that one off the list!

Philip and his son Kristen are locals but don't fish as often as they would like. Today however, that would change. The first spot was slow but spot number two produced right away and we didn't have to move the rest of the trip. Kristen eventually had to take a break from the hot action and Philip caught a nice shark that kept circling the wreck. Philip and Kristen decided to head in early and Philip's comment to me was "you kicked his butt." That's what it's all about!

Today was the last day Paul and Neil would be fishing before going back to Maryland and as always we had a blast. While we didn't hook any tarpon today, we did mix it up and caught a number of different species on lighter tackle. I can't wait for them to come down again next year.

The Paul and Neil show continued today and the fishing kept slowing down. However, we did hook a tarpon and Paul fought it for a bit until the hook pulled during the final stages of the fight. The day ended by fishing a few wrecks for snapper.
