Jun 23 2016 report

Today I was fishing with Giovanna and John from New York and we fished just a couple of spots before Giovanna got a little queasy from the heat and we decided to call it a day early. At the first spot they were Tarpon rolling around and we caught hogfish, mangrove snapper Triggerfish and a few other species before she started to feel a little queasy. We moved on to a grass flat but that proved to not be helpful so we ran back in to make sure she was okay. Capt. June 17, 2016 Report (Permit!)

Bill and Pierre are from N.C. and had booked two days of fishing in S.C. but gale force winds caused them to cancel and head south.  On our half day trip this morning we had breezier than normal conditions but caught some Ladyfish while we waited for the tide to turn.  Once it did Pierre hooked a Tarpon on artificial lure but it broke off when we had it next to the boat.  A bit later we got two hits and one hook up.  Turns out it was one of the species we were targeting, permit!  A nice fight later we got Bill's big permit to the boat.  Congrats Bill!

June 14, 2016 Report

With typical summer conditions awaiting us, Nick got in 6 hours of fishing before his flight back home.  With fly rods in hand we targeted the big three bonefish, Tarpon and permit.  Finding lots of Tarpon they refused to eat with little consolation that none of the other guide boats were hooking up either.  Hitting the flats we hit the flats and found schools of bonefish that started too far off for a shot but found lots of permit.  Nick had a number of shots at permit including tailing fish but no hook ups.  Capt. June 13, 2016 Report

11 year old Zoe jumped aboard this morning with her parents Michelle and Greg. Right off the bat she said she wanted to catch a shark her size so off we went looking for sharks. The first one didn't produce any sharks so we went to a second spot to catch bait and immediately Michele lands a nice big jack that we would use for bait and chum. Making a quick run down to the flats I staked out and put out the Jack as chum and bait and not long after we saw a nice shark move through. Grabbing the rod and pitching the bait in front of it but it refused to eat and kept swimming. However a few minutes later one of the rods doubles over and Zoe is hooked up and a nice fight later with help from dad she got her shark and guess what it was her size! That was awesome!

Well Earned Vacation!

I had the pleasure of fishing with some clients/friends of mine in New Brunswick Canada and had an absolute blast. Here are some pics. It had rained for 3 days over the mountains and the Restigouche River was 7 feet higher than normal and dirty. Needless to say the salmon fishing was slow.

Corey, Debbie and their awesome dog Riley are regular clients of mine from N.Y. and Corey was celebrating the end of his medical residency. We started tarpon fishing and found quite a few fish but no bites. Switching off we fished grass flats and caught some fish on artificial lures. Unfortunately, right when the fishing was about to go off, we could see the schools moving in, a pod of porpoise moved in and wiped out our fishing. Capt. June 3, 2016 AM and PM Report

AM Report My morning trip with Jack was great today with tons of action where ever we went. Starting on a grass flat, he caught trout and a few more species. The trip wrapped up at another spot where it didn't take long for Jack to hook into an 80lb spinner shark and land it after a tough fight.
PM Report The afternoon trip was with Nick from England and we caught the last of the outgoing tide where he caught a nice barracuda and other species while we tarpon fished. The tarpon appeared and vanished within minutes giving us just a brief window to fish for them.
