March 28, 2018 Report

Guillermo and bibi are a very cool father and daughter team and local regular clients of mine. We kept it easy today because although we were going to fly fish winds were blowing 20 to 25 miles an hour so we stuck to fishing grass Flats using whores not tormenting ourselves throwing flies in that wind. We had a great time, Plenty of Fish and they took some home for dinner. Yum!

Today I finished with Aaron and his dad and had a blast once again throwing lures for sea trout and blue fish and Lady Fish. We look for Tarpon but unfortunately they were not around in the areas that we can fish in the LIE of the wind that we had to deal with today.

March 23, 2018 Report (Tarpon Video!)

Sometimes you just have a good feeling and that is what Todd and Tyler joined me following today. We started off at a tarpon spot that I had a feeling would hold some Tarpon and sure enough they were there. Finally I get to fine good numbers of carpet! First couple cast resulted in a hookup on a big hundred 50 lb tarponwood spit the hook after a couple of jumps. A few minutes later we found another group of fish drop the bait in and hooked up almost immediately. This time it was about a hundred sixty lb fish which we got a leader release on before 5 bull sharks to send it on it in obliterated it. We wrapped it up over the grass Flats catching a bunch of fish on floors and called it a day basking in the glory of silver. Capt. Well back from Canada came Steve, Peter and R.T. when we fish last year on April Fool's Day tarpon fishing was in full swing in the guys caught a huge permit in a giant Tarpon. However this year was a little different since we had a cold front moves through just last week dropping the water temperatures pretty significantly pretty quickly causing the tarpon fishing to slow down. We did check around the found very few fish so we decided to shark fish which also proved to be slow. We wrapped it up over grass flat Towing lures and catching a bunch of sea trout and blue fish.

I fished with Anthony and Michael today on a quick half day trip. We stayed close to the marina and had a blast catching a bunch of different species on lures and then sped back to the ramp after having given tarpon fishing a quick try. Capt. I was back on David's boat today and Steve was the man of the hour and with some significant wind we decided to go shallow in his 32' Intrepid and catch some trout and bluefish. We ended the day hooking several sharks when the tide turned and kept the rods bent. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

Ken and Sherry are from Michigan and were in town for a week. Although I really wanted to get them a tarpon, a late season cold front pushed all the tarpon out for a few days and I had to go to my back up plan. We did a tour of Biscayne Bay starting out in Key Biscayne and ending up on the flats in south Biscayne Bay. We had a great time, they caught a ton of fish and the weather could not have been better!
