June 16, 2017 Report

This morning was a typical June morning, hot and no wind. With slick calm conditions I knew the tarpon would be active so David and I went to a tarpon spot and sure enough they were there. Fishing aboard David's 32' Intrepid we set up a drift or so we thought. With no wind and no current we were sitting ducks watching helplessly as tarpon rolled just out of range. We decided to change it up and wait for some wind to pick up later in the day. Fishing a different spot we bottom fished and caught a half dozen fish but with time running out and a storm building we moved back to tarpon that proved fruitless since we still couldn't get a drift.
