June 24, 2019 Report (Bonefish Video!)
Celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary, Paul and Dawn came from Sarasota to spend some time in Miami and got flats fishing. The hunt started off with permit but with only one shot and a couple of fish spotted I decided to change it up and that was the ticket. At the first spot, even before I could kill the engine, the schools of bonefish were everywhere! I turned off the motor, pinned a shrimp to the rods and the actions started. They had some really good shots but missed them by just a few feet until... I spotted another school behind the boat, Paul saw them flash and made a great cast. Moments later I hear "I'm on!". A nice fight later he had a nice Biscayne Bay bonefish in his hands. The day wrapped up looking for more permit.

I had Creigh and his dad Creigh today. The last time Creigh and I fished we were fly fishing for tarpon and he had two bites but were surrounded by tarpon all day. Today was a bit different. We were bonefishing on fly and spin. The guys had some solid shots at so BIG fish in slick water but no commits so we changed course and got some barracudas sight casted on lures. Very cool!

Long time friends and co workers Sam and Chris were in for a half day and with a bit of a breeze we started off bonefishing where Sam caught a small shark. Leaving that spot we hit a snapper spot and the guys had a blast catching dinner and keeping the rods bent on snappers and barracudas. What a fun trip with these guys today!

Family time today for Wei, James and their son Steven as we hot some wrecks and flats and I made sure they caught tons of fish and were happy. Wei didn't fish as she was the photographer but James and Steven had a blast catching snappers, trigger fish, grouper, yellow jacks, runners, rainbow runners and sharks. At the end of the trip they were thrilled and so was I to fish with such a great family.

It was good to see Ken again as we hadn't fished in some years. This was a special day though because he brought his awesome 6 year old, Gianna. The goal was to keep her busy and boy did we. Along the way we had to dodge a few storms but it was never an issue. Towards end her hands were sore and we were glad she had a great time.

I had the triple threat again on board today with Patrick, Julie and Allysa. This family is always great and today was no different. We started off bonefishing and had some shots but no hook ups so we fished some wrecks where they went through 120 baits in no time then hit the flats for sharks but they were MIA.

From California came Roger and his son Zach with a desire to wet a line since they don't do much of that back home. Boy did we have great conditions and caught a ton of fish on some shallow wrecks then turned our attention to the flats for sharks where Zach got a nice one and Roger lost another one at the end of the trip.
