December 13, 2019 Report
Today I was back on David's boat, his new 24 foot Pathfinder. There was a brisk wind that kept us on the search for fish as we tried to stay comfortable and dry. The plan was to hit a few of the finger channels and we did where we caught some fish but nothing to write home about. So, we hit the flats for sharks and hooked four but lost them all. So, we lost to the sharks 4-0.

December 9, 2019 Report (Bonefish Video)
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with 84 year old Diane and her fishing partner Santiago from Argentina. We started off with some shots at a couple of permit and then started to get more more shots at bonefish. Eventually we had one eat but didn't get hooked so we continued until I spotted 3 fish coming in at our 11 o'clock about 60'. I called it out to Santiago and he made a perfect cast. I instructed him to let the fly sink then yelled "strip, strip, strip!" As he did one of the bonefish peeled off from the school, tailed on the fly, missed it tracked it again, tailed again on the fly and finally got hooked. During the long run I saw a shark move in so I had to stop recording video and chase the bonefish with the motor in order to make noise and spoke away the shark. However, something happened that I thought was truly amazing, as I chased the bonefish down all of a sudden he stopped running and the line started to take a weird angle right to the bottom. Lo and behold the bonefish had lodged himself between a coral head and the bottom seeking protection from the shark. Some encouragement later the bonefish took off and we got him in the net for some Santiago's biggest bonefish to date. I can tell you this fish did more for me than for some Santiago as I've had a few trips already where we've had tons of shots at bonefish and some permit and can't seem to connect. Well after this one I will be sleeping well tonight!

Today I had a very cool trip with Stan and his twelve-year-old grandson who just wanted to catch fish. We had once again just perfect weather conditions so we caught some bait and ran to a shallow ship wreck where they caught 6 different species. We switched gears and tried to get some barracudas only to lose a nice one on the initial jump and the shark fishing proved to be slow today.

November 30, 2019 Report
I hadn't fished with Glenn for a month or so and he was back in town. Since he was fishing solo we targeted bonefish. The morning was red hot with ideal conditions and tons of shots at bonefish and a big permit. As the morning progressed a cold front started to move in and the visibility got worst so we ended the day fishing a shallow flat but no one was home.

Meat fishing, that is what was on the agenda today. Scott and his sons Brett and Jake wanted fresh fish to eat so they did. Once again, I netted some pilchards, and fished a wreck. There they caught big mangrove snappers, yellow jacks, trigger fish, small amberjacks, small grouper and the boys lost nice groupers the moment we got there. The action was red hot and they had a blast!

I had a two boat trip today with Luis and Carrie aboard ready to fly fish. Luis went first on the bow and had plenty of shots at bonefish but it was one of those days where we came close a few times, with bonefish swirling on the fly but not eating. Urgh. I then took them to a wreck and Carrie caught a ton of fish on shrimp while Luis caught plenty on a fly rod. It was a cool day with some great people.

Craig, his wife and awesome Louie from Chicago were aboard today. Today was awesome! I loaded up on bait and hit a wreck and that is all we had to do. Live chumming got the action started and it was red hot from the get go. They caught small amberjacks, trigger fish, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, blue runners, yellow jacks and more. What a fun day!
