June 23 2018 report
Yesterday afternoon I got a call from Brent telling me he had told his wife what an awesome trip we had and all the fish we caught and she regretted having slept in so she wanted to go out today. Being off of course I said yes and off we went with Brent, Tanya his wife and I ready to have a great day. Our great Tarpon spot from yesterday was slow since we didn't see any snook or tarpon so we switched it up and Tanya caught a bunch of jacks that wore her out and hooked two big sharks that we had been targeting plus a few other fish including about a 40 lb Barracuda that ate Brent's Jack in half right next to the boat and then kept slashing and eating the dangled fish remains right in front of us absolutely blowing Tanya's mind. I love summer!

June 22 2018 report (Tarpon video!)
Today I had Brent from Oregon and although he wanted to fly fish he decided to mix it up and so we did and that worked out beautifully. We went to the first spot where I had fished with Tom yesterday and that spot was on fire as Brent hooked three tarpon, landed two, lost a couple of snook and had a few other fish work our drags. We wrapped it up at a different spot where he caught a bunch of big jacks on live bait and on fly. He was nice enough to let me use his fly rod to make a few cast and catch a jack on the Fly. We had a couple of Tarpon come up and take a swipe at our baits but never get hooked but it was a great morning. I love summer!

June 21, 2018 Report (Snook video)
After taking a few days off to go camping in North Florida and enjoy those beautiful natural springs I was back at work today with local and repeat angler Tom. Tom had never caught a snook so the goal was to get him his first snook so picking up some bait off we went. The first spot was slow although I was marking plenty of snook, did not get them to eat but in the process we did catch a few other fish to keep the rods bent. The second spot proved to be the key where almost immediately Tom got his first snook, and a slob at that! We saw some smaller tarpon move through and a little bit later the rod doubles over and Tom releases a second snook. During our time at this spot he hooked a few more fish, some came off right away and some came off after blistering runs. Then things became a little slow so we hit one more spot where Tom caught a bunch of big Jacks and had three Tarpon blow up on his bait but not stay on the hook. One of the bites was awesome as the tarpon came right out of the water open its mouth and clobber the bait just a few feet from us. It left us laughing, slack-jawed and having a blast.

June 15, 2018 Report (Bonefish on fly video)
Well, Rob has the bug and he decided to fish one more day with me before he went back home and it was the right decision to make. Conditions today were even better and we spent 5 hours fishing the same spot and having tons of shots at bonefish, permit and tarpon. Rob had a few shots at a massive school of big permit tailing in 2 feet of water with their tails sticking straight out of the water. Well, the actions was just unbelievable all morning but you'll have to watch the video to see what happened!

Day twi with Rob and the pressure is building. I really want, need him to get a fish on fly and the morning conditions were good once again with slick calm water, no wind and overcast skies. Again, tons of shots throughout the day but to hook ups. We ended the day fishing supper shallow massive tailing bonefish on the oceanside flats as a storm was barrelling down on us.

June 12, 2018 Report
Rob was back on the bow today with flyrod in hand chasing bonefish and permit and meeting in Homestead, we were in the epicenter of good bonefishing. We met at 6am and hit the shoreline flats which held some bonefish, permit and tarpon but not as many as I expected. Rob had some shots and then we moved south to find more. We ended the day on the oceanside flats taking shots at big tailing bonefish in shallow water but not hooking any.

June 11th 2018 Report
It's always great to meet and fish with different people and today was no exception. In town to play the Marlins was San Francisco Giants pitcher Mark and he brought along his two friends Tom and Tyler and we had an absolute blast. On our way to tarpon fishing we spotted some schools of bait getting worked and absolutely tore up lady fish, big blue fish, some mackerel, shark and Tarpon. Using only artificial lures it was red hot all morning and then we decided to give the fish a break and target tarpon. We showed up at the first tarpon spot but there was a big storm full of lightning moving towards us so we gave it about 10-15 minutes and then with time running out in the trip ran closer to the marina where we caught some jackd and had some shots at Tarpon before we called it a day and headed in before the storm got to us.
