August 18, 2014 Report

Regular client David was back in town and ready to do some fishing. We decided to fish out of Key Biscayne and look for summer tarpon in an attempt to seek redemption from our last tarpon trip together when David lost a monster to a piling. We set up and worked an area that had been producing for me. There were only a few rollers and it was slower than expected but while catching a variety of other species we waited for "the bite". "The bite" came and it was a monster for summer time. The fish never jumped but ran over 100 yards of line nonstop while I tried to release the anchor, reel in the other rods and give chase. Unfortunately, he broke us off and swam free. There was a very unhappy guide on the boat at this point. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com
