December 15, 2016 Report (Tarpon Videos!)

12/15 My regular client and good friend David and I were back at it hunting tarpon for his friend Warren. We found fish and began working a long string of rolling tarpon. On our second drift Warren hooks up and releases his first tarpon. The third drift got David a solid hook up but the fish broke off not long after. Deep breath! Our fourth drift was a home run with David hooking up again and releasing another nice fish. Having had their fill we switched gears and called it a day. The tarpon fishing has been solid with multiple fish releases each day!

December 13, 2016 Report (Video)

12/13 In town for a conference, Will, Brad and Andrew decided to go fishing instead of hanging out in the hotel. We only had to fish one spot and while the tarpon were MIA there were others to take their place. We lost a few fish and then caught bait for sharks. The sharks were thick and we hooked about 6-8 before heading in. At one point there were 3-4 sharks surrounding the boat eating whatever we would throw at them. What a blast!

Ephrain is from NY and was in town visiting relatives so with fly rod in hand we hit the bay. He quickly got a few fish on fly to break the ice and between fly and spinning gear the rods stayed bent with species such as grouper, snapper, trout and more.

December 10, 2016 Report

12/10 Eitel is from Italy living in Ohio and tried to fish with me two years ago but we had to cancel due to weather. Today was a close call as well but we decided to head out in spite of the threatening skies. We fished two and a half hours before calling it a day due to constant heavy rain but there was good action during that brief time including landing a nice spinner shark in the middle of a torrential rain storm.

December 8, 2016 Report ( Tarpon Video)

David, Lee, Len and I headed out today on a quick 4 hour trip to tarpon fish and it was good!  Right off the bat Lee and Len hooked into a double header with Ken losing his fish and Lee landing his.  A few missed bites later Lee hooks up again only to lose his fish to a spit hook and we called it a day after getting 6 bites, getting four hook ups and landing two fish.  Not bad for just a couple of hours where we had the fish all to ourselves.  The big tarpon arrived yesterday and there has been a mile long line of fish willing to play!

Bill and Dawn jumped aboard this morning for a full day of fishing Biscayne Bay.  While we found no tarpon, the rods kept a steady bent on a variety of species.  Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

Ned jumped aboard today for some fun fishing and we stayed close to the marina.  Using both live bait and artificial lures he caught a half dozen species and was able to relax and have some fun.

Fishing picked up today as I fished with Pat who was in town for a conference. We still had tough wind but the winds were in the 20-25 MPH range. Bonefishing was out of the question but there were plenty of other species at or disposal. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

Chris is a regular local client of mine and although we fished in his 28' Grady White today, we couldn't have picked a worst day. 30 mph winds were brutal making fishing slow. Although we caught some fish, nothing significant came to the boat but he did take home fresh snapper dinner.
