May 1, 2017 Report (Tarpon Video!)

May has started with a bang and Pete from hiago got a taste of it today. First spot of the day produced a solid hook up on a 150lb tarpon but a few jumps later the hook came off. Later in the day Pete would have redemption on a fish about 120lbs. Numerous jumps and runs later the fish came to the boat 30 minutes after hooking up. What a way to end the day!

April 28, 2017 Report (Tarpon Video!)

Tom fished me with me last year and had his 100lb shark get eaten by a big bull shark right next to the boat. This year we targeted tarpon and he was able to get his first tarpon weighing about 150lbs. Great job Tom!

April 27, 2017 Report

This morning I fished with Max and we had to do an abbreviated trip due to his flight schedule. We hit the flats and had a few shots at bonefish but no hook ups. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

April 26, 2017 Report

Chris hopped aboard today and the goal was tarpon. We fished a few tarpon spots but the fish had lock jaw. Towards the end of the trip we fished another spot where Chris hooked up and got 5 solid jumps out of a fish in the 150lb range before the hook came loose. Bad tarpon, bad tarpon!!!!! Capt. April 24, 2017 AM & PM Reports

AM Regular client David fished with me this morning and the fishing was shut down courtesy of some major weather yesterday that caused me to cancel both trips. There were very few Tarpon around and they wouldn't eat. We decided to shark fish where David hooked two monsters but lost both. PM Sometimes it pays to wait and Tom waited out the storms yesterday and we fished today instead. With fly rod in hand and gorgeous conditions we hit the flats for bonefish where he had a few shots. Then, a school of mudding bonefish appear, I pole into position and Tom drops the fly perfectly in front of the school. I yell "strip, strip!, Tom strips and I hear "I'm on!". The big bonefish began to clear the fly line, the rod bent and then it went limp. Turns out the fly line wrapped around the reel and the fish broke off. Urgh!!! We wrapped up the day with a few shots at permit and tarpon. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

April 21, 2017 AM & PM Reports

AM Brian and Courtney met me at the ocean reef club this morning with a desire to tangle with Tarpon. We fished a Tarpon spot but there were no fish around and with no boats hooking up we changed it up. We caught some bait and I took them to a flat I love for sight fishing for sharks. Here Brian sight cast three sharks with the last one giving him a run of over 100 yards non stop. What a drag burner! PM My afternoon trip was with Mike and his 10 year old son Jack. We tried bonefishing but Jack wanted some action so we fished a creek that held big mangrove snappers and some nice barracuda but none of the fish wanted to eat. Go figure! I took them back to my shark sight fishing flat where Jack tore it up on sharks catching three on his own. Awesome work Jack! Capt.
