January 25, 2017 Report
Today I fished with Marc from the UK and his two friends Steve and Dean. Marc and I fished a couple of years ago and had a great time and they were back in town celebrating his 50th birthday. They wanted tarpon, sharks and bonefish and I knew conditions were right with absolutely clear skies and almost no wind. The morning started cool in the low sixties and we made a run over to South Beach to look for Tarpon. After a long reconnaissance of the area there were no Tarpon to be found. We changed spots and found some tarpon and while just a few were rolling there were big schools holding deep but in spite of our best efforts we couldn't get them to eat. Along the way the guys caught mutton snapper, Hogfish, Big Jack's and plenty of sharks. We wrapped up the day over a grass flat catching sea trout before calling it a day with sore arms. I love it!
