June 28, 201 Report
An afternoon trip with Andrew, John and Mike is what was in store for me today and the plan was to bonefish. Picking the guys up at their bay side hotel we made a long run down to the flats and took advantage of the great visibility. The tides weren't great but we worked with them and had a solid shot at a nice permit but as soon as that happened, the tide went slack and there went the bonefishing. We stuck it out for a bit but the tide would just not turn so we turned our attention to the tons of barracudas that were on the flat. Incredibly they were being extra picky and while we did get a ton of follows and 4 strikes we didn't land any. We wrapped up the trip on a nearby shipwreck where the guys caught a bunch of fish and had a blast watching a massive barracuda eat one of their hooked fish right next to the boat!
