October 23, 2017 Report Video!

Kelly and Jeremy had just gotten off a cruise and came right to the marina to fish and get more salt in their system. Once they jumped aboard they told me "we would love to catch a shark". "A" shark I thought, let's get a few. A bull shark spot I fish had the wrong tide so we hit the flats and had a blast. We ended hooking 7 sharks, landing four, hooking two big barracudas and landing one. It was a blast and the fishing was solid today. Capt. Regular client, friend and local angler Alec brought his son Ruben along today and while the plan was snook fishing, a late start may have thrown a monkey wrench into those plans. We caught plenty of bait but a few snook spots were void of snook so we scratched that. Making a run to a shallow wreck with live pilchards on hand proved to be a ton of fun and we kept 16 nice snappers for dinner with rods bending almost immediately after the bait would hit the water. Todays trip was an afternoon trip with Brett and his wife Debbie from Texas. Since we had a great tide, outgoing because the incoming tide has proven slow this week, we caught some live bait and headed south to the flats for shark fishing. Just as I had thought, the outgoing tide was the key and the fishing was solid on a small wreck we fished where Debbie outfished Brett and lost a monster fish that spooled us before I could give chase as well as on the flats. Once we set up for sharks there were tons of rays around which is always a good sign and we ended up releasing a few sharks, Debbie's first. Capt. This morning I had repeat clients John and his son Joe on board and of we went. After loading up on bait we fished a few grass flats and caught a few trout. With the trout action slowing down we fished for tarpon where we found a few boat no bites. The rest of the spots we fished were slow as well and with a busy weekend on the water, a few of the other spots had boats on them so we called it a day with after a hot start and a slow finish. October 13, 2017 AM & PM Reports (Video!)

AM Report My morning trip was a 3/4 day with Jeremy and Jessica from Alaska. Miami was their stop on their way to a cruise and they had booked me months before but today was the day. The goal was to catch a number of species and keep the rods bend and that we did. After loading up on bait we it about 6 spots, all producing fish including sea trout, jacks, tarpon, sharks and snapper. The bay was definitely firing on all cylinders today and it was great having them aboard. While hooking tarpon and jacks, Jeremy hooked 4 massive bull sharks that we couldn't turn. Each of the sharks either broke off or spit the hook. Either way, it wa a great trip with two great people.

PM Report My afternoon trip was with Austin from NC and with the fishing being slow on the incoming tide over the last week or so around Miami, we decided to head south and fish wrecks and flats in south Biscayne Bay. The first wreck had some nice fish on it but we lost all the larger fish but Austin did hook a nice blue runner for shark bait and it got demolished right next to boat by a huge barracuda. Unbelievably, the 'cuda got hooked in the corner of the mouth and didn't even nick the flouro leader! A cool jump and a long fight later Austin had a big 'cuda to the boat for a photo op. Moving on to the flats we hooked a few sharks and landed two with the second shark coming in at the last moment as we were reeling in our baits. This was a very cool trip with a very cool guy! Capt. October 9, 2017 Fishing Report

Today had me very excited because we had some really nice weather and although we were still dealing with the effects of the king tide we definitely had less wind and I already saw a slight Improvement in the water quality. The benefactors of these improving conditions were Dan and Oksana from Canada. We started off buying some live pilchards and running down to the creeks in South Bay for Snook. However the first two creeks we fished had tons of fresh water which killed our bait and no snook. An added bonus however was being able to see a few manatees playing around close to the boat. At the third creek we fished conditions were much better with giant schools of live pilchards which I cast netted and decided to give up on snook fishing since there was nothing harassing the bait. We ran down to a few wrecks and there we caught a bunch of mutton snapper nice grouper and blue runners that would have been perfect for shark bait but we were not shark fishing today. We ended the day fishing a few spots for Snook and Tarpon which proved to be slow and ended up our full day charter with a few last cast at a snook spot.

Today was my last day fishing with Peter and his friend and boy what a tough day it was. Still dealing with the king tide and lots of wind the water was very dirty. We must have fished about a dozen spots using live bait and artificials and all we could manage was a stingray. Pretty disappointing and I'm just waiting for this king tide to go away. Capt. October 6, 2017 Fishing Report

Am report My morning trip was with a regular client Matt and his ten-year-old daughter Diana. Since they usually book me during Tarpon season we target Tarpon but today we would change it up a bit. We started looking for Tarpon and although we found a few there weren't many and fishing for them was slow. Changing it up we caught Barracuda, a bunch of jacks, Snapper, blue fish and a couple of other species ending the trip on a high note.

Pm My afternoon trip was with Peter from the Czech Republic and his friend again. I had to reschedule all my charters this week starting Tuesday because of severe weather with lots of rain and wind. Today was the first day we got a break in the weather and with some bait we had already caught during my morning trip we headed down to the flats. On the flats the water was definitely cleaner and we had a good day since we were shark fishing we hooked five, landed two and enjoyed some great weather for a change.

October 2, 2017 Fishing Report

Peter and his friend are from the Czech Republic and jumped aboard for a day of fishing today. We were scheduled to fish three days and today is the first of the three days. Petr is a former Olympian and actor and a really cool guy so off we went and chased a few species around but everything was pretty slow. We ended up catching a big Stingray and a few smaller fish on artificials but that was it. Pretty disappointing outcome but we had high dirty water and lots of wind. Capt. September 29, 2017 Report (Video!)

Steve and Rory are from Texas and they were in Miami for work so they decided to go fishing. We hit the beach the mullet run and didn't see a whole lot going on so we went back inshore and hit a spot that was solid with constant action including snook. We wrapped up the day fishing a bit deeper in the port of Miami where Steve hooked a cool spinner shark that broke him off on the initial jump.
