May 2, 2016 Report

It had been 5 years since Eric had been fishing, way too long! Giving tarpon fishing an opportunity we saw two BIG tarpon swim by the boat bee lining for our baits. One of them comes uo t our bait, tries to eat it but misses them comes back, eats, rod doubles over and them spits the bait. Geeze! Hitting the flats Eric caught 3 species of shark and sight cast a nice barracuda using artificial lures. The chase and hit was awesome!

April 30, 2016 AM and PM Report

AM Report This was an unusual request, Kevin from the U.K. wanted to go fishing but had 2 hours to fish. OK, no problem let's do it. Working our way to South Beach we fished a few grass flats for trout where he caught a few on artificial lures on our my way to drop him off in South Beach. PM Report Steve and his wife jumped aboard at 1pm and we were off to the flats. Giving tarpon fishing a quick shot we ran south to the flats in order to avoid the weekend crowds and shark fished. There were tons of BIG sharks but none would eat. Steve had one about 6 feet come up to the bait, eat it and start a drag burning run only to spit the bait. URGH! Capt. April 29, 2016 Report (Tarpon Video!)

Today I fished with local anglers Bob and Jonathan and again we had gorgeous weather.   Spot one Jonathan hooked a nice permit and had it next to the boat until the fish made one last run and broke off.   URGH!   We continued to work until Bob hooked a big 130lb tarpon.   During the fight we had to fight off three separate bull shark attacks on Bob's tarpon but we got the quick release before the bull shark could eat the tarpon.   Like yesterday,  we ended the trip with tons of shots at bonefish.

April 28, 2016 Report (Video)

Today I fished with local angler and regular client Alec.   We had gorgeous weather again and started off tarpon fishing getting two hits,  hooking one and losing the 80lber after a few jumps.  We then hit the bonefish flats and while largely devoid of bonefish Alec took advantage of the laid up barracudas on the flat and sight casted 3 of them.  It was truly a blast fit both of us as we would spot them,  Alec would make a long accurate cast in front and past the barracuda and reel like mad.   The strikes were ferocious and the drag would sizzle as they raced across the flats.   The last shot proved to be the best as we ended the day taking some shots at schools of bonefish.

April 26, 2016 Report (Bonefish.Video!)

Day two with Sebastian from Spain and he wanted tarpon and bonefish on fly.   Today there were no tarpon around so we focused on the bonefish flats.   It was certainly slow but we kept working hard.  At our last spot we found a ton of feeding,  mudding bonefish and after a bunch of shots Sebastian got his bonefish on fly.  It feels so good to score!

April 25, 2016 Report

Taking Sunday off, Monday morning Sebastian and Fabiano boarded my skiff for a full day off fly fishing.   Just about every type of fishing was slow during the incoming tide.  The tarpon were around by not eating,  the trout were shut down and other areas were slow,  but not for long.  Getting to the bonefish flats at the beginning of the outgoing tide the fishing came to life.   The guys had a bunch of shots at cruising bones and mudding bones.  Unfortunately things didn't come together and didn't hook any.   We'll be back tomorrow! April 23, 2016 Report

Danny stayed in the hotel today while Glenn and I hit the bay for an assortment of fishing opportunities.   Fishing trout flats first we caught a bunch of snapper,  trout,  barracuda and ladyfish.  With the sun angle improving we hit the bonefish flats and had shots at a bunch of schools.  One school moved through, Glenn made a great cast and the bonefish started looking for his shrimp.  Unfortunately a stupid box fish got to the shrimp first.  Urgh!  With the wind dying off the flats got slick calm and at the bottom of the tide we ended the day taking shots at tailing bonefish in supper skinny water.
