October 6, 2017 Fishing Report

Am report My morning trip was with a regular client Matt and his ten-year-old daughter Diana. Since they usually book me during Tarpon season we target Tarpon but today we would change it up a bit. We started looking for Tarpon and although we found a few there weren't many and fishing for them was slow. Changing it up we caught Barracuda, a bunch of jacks, Snapper, blue fish and a couple of other species ending the trip on a high note.
Pm My afternoon trip was with Peter from the Czech Republic and his friend again. I had to reschedule all my charters this week starting Tuesday because of severe weather with lots of rain and wind. Today was the first day we got a break in the weather and with some bait we had already caught during my morning trip we headed down to the flats. On the flats the water was definitely cleaner and we had a good day since we were shark fishing we hooked five, landed two and enjoyed some great weather for a change.

October 2, 2017 Fishing Report

Peter and his friend are from the Czech Republic and jumped aboard for a day of fishing today. We were scheduled to fish three days and today is the first of the three days. Petr is a former Olympian and actor and a really cool guy so off we went and chased a few species around but everything was pretty slow. We ended up catching a big Stingray and a few smaller fish on artificials but that was it. Pretty disappointing outcome but we had high dirty water and lots of wind. Capt. September 29, 2017 Report (Video!)

Steve and Rory are from Texas and they were in Miami for work so they decided to go fishing. We hit the beach the mullet run and didn't see a whole lot going on so we went back inshore and hit a spot that was solid with constant action including snook. We wrapped up the day fishing a bit deeper in the port of Miami where Steve hooked a cool spinner shark that broke him off on the initial jump. We had a blast and these guys were really cool to fish with. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

September 22, 2017 Fishing Reports

September has certainly been a trying month with hurricanes and Sloat business because of the hurricane and it's aftermath. However things are starting to pick up and today Amir and mark from Houston join me for half day of fishing while their wives were at a conference. Thankfully these guys homes were spared the floods and made it out just fine. With some live pictures in the Life wall I headed off to the beach to look for the mullet migration in hopes of cast netting some and enjoying some Tarpon action but there no mullet to be found off the beach so we fish and other spot where there were tons of big jacks and some carpet. After having our fill of jacks a school of mullet move through but the tarpon wouldn't even look at them. What is that all about?! We went back out towards the beach looking for sharks and although I marked if you didn't get any fights so we wrapped it up over grassflat where we had to cut it short and speed back in while run a massive rainstorm that cut our trip short. All in all we had a nice day and only made it back about 15 minutes early. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

September 17, 2017 Report (Video, post Hurricane Irma Charter)

Wow, thanks to Irma today is my first day back on the water after 16 days off! I can't remember the last time I was off for such an extended period of time. Anyway, I was eager to get back to work today and Brian from NY was my client. He was here for a conference that almost got cancelled but it just got pushed back a day. He and I are happy to report that all is back to normal in Miami and South Beach with hotels having full power and businesses fully operational. Our weather was absolutely gorgeous today and with fly rod in hand we began our day. Even 6 days after the hurricane the water was very dirty and the fishing was generally slow but oh the mullet run! The mullet run has begun and we took advantage of it by fishing off South Beach and witnessing schools of mullet getting devoured by tarpon, snook and jacks. This is primarily a live bait game but we used flies and soft plastics and hooked one tarpon that came off after the second jump and then a second tarpon ate the fly but never got hooked. The mullet run is here, I'm ready to hit the water again and capitalize on this annual phenomenon. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

September 11, 2017 Hurricane Iram Report Video!

It seems like forever since I hit the water as season winds down and then hurricane Irma made things quite exciting for us. So far this month was shaping up to be a decent month business wise and the fishing had been good, and then Irma. I'm not complaining since Irma took a westerly turn and spared us the brunt of her fury unleashing her fury on the Florida Keys and Florida's west coast. I actually made it through unscathed through this nasty storm and am God blessed to say the least. However, there are many more severely affected by Irma so let's continue to pray and assist as we are lead to do so. To the many that text and emailed checking up on me, thank you so much! I am truly grateful for your concern for me and my family. Thank you! Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

August 31, 2017 Report Video!

I was out of Key Largo's Ocean Reef Club today and had Miron from Dallas on board. We hit a few spots that usually produce an assortment of species and it proved a bit slow although we did caught some shark bait and a few nice snappers for dinner. I decided to wrap up the abbreviated trip by going to a proven shark flat for me and there he hooked several and landed one. Stay dry and safe Miron as you head back home! Capt.
