December 2, 2017 Report

I climbed aboard David's boat today with his cousin and his cousin's friend and off we went to shark fish. Well, turns out today was one of those days that was slow and agonizing. As a guide I always want my clients to catch fish and they caught a few small fish perfect for shark bait. The problem was that there were no sharks around. Trying to make something happen we fished a few spots which proved to be slow but the last spot was loaded with fish. There were so many snappers and other species that they were changing the color of the water. The problem here was that they refused to eat! We were able to pluck a few fish out of this spot and called it a day.

November 30, 2017 Report

I had a three boat charter today and Dave and Chris were on my boat. We looked for tarpon but the areas were blown out by the significant wind so off to plan B. We found some fish where the guys kept the rods bent and the drags screaming until a big bull shark showed up. I had a rod rigged and snatch a bait, tossed it in front of the monster shark and seconds later Dave was on! We fought the bull for about an hour and with time running out we put the screws to him. The drag almost maxed out had little effect on the behemoth and eventually broke us off. Wow, we never got to see the shark clearly but 250 pounders never put up this kind of fight so I estimate this guy to have been 300 plus. WOW!

November 26, 2017 Report (Video!)

Local regular angler Gary and his two boys Jake and Adam are always a blast to have on board and the two boys couldn't be more competitive. They wanted barracuda and steady action so that is what they got. The first spot provided steady action and a nice grouper for Adam. Oh, Oh, Jake is not happy. At this point Adam was ready to call it a day since he was in the lead and beating Jake. Of course we kept fishing and the last spot produced a nice jumping barracuda for Jake beating Adam and breaking Adams heart. That's sibling rivalry for you! Capt. November 25, 2017 AM/PM Reports (Video)

AM Report In the morning I fished with local angler and client James and he wanted fresh fish dinner and I still owed him a shark from our last trip. The first order of the day was getting some live pilchards and we found tons at the first spot we tried. With a livewell full of hope we headed off and fished a couple of productive spots catching snapper and yellow jacks. The third spot produced a solid 10 lb mutton snapper and we missed a few along the way. We ended the day on the flats where James finally landed a solid lemon shark wrapping up a solid morning trip. PM Report My afternoon trip was with Bruce and his two boys and we stayed close to the marina this time catching trout, jacks, snapper and we fished for big bull sharks but nobody was home. Wheew, what a cool day. Time to go home! Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

November 22, 2017 AM/PM Reports

AM My morning trip was with 9 year old Louie and his parents Craig and Andrea. Louie really wanted to catch a shark but with gorgeous conditions we opted to start our morning looking for tarpon. The search was brief since we didn't find any so off to sharks we went where they had a blast catching jacks as I dropped back a bait for big bull sharks. We hooked for big bulls and finally landed one I estimated at about 250lbs. Craig got a workout and Louie was in awe of that massive shark just a few feet from him. Way to go guys!
PM Italian brothers Roberto and Mateo were back on board. The last time we fished they caught a ton of trout on fly and spin and a shark and they wanted a repeat. They day went as planned except Mateo landed most of his fish, something that eluded him eluded last time. Capt. November 16, 2017 Fishing Report

David had a big crew today so we fished in his boat, a 32' Intrepid. David, 6 teenagers and I got some bait and went searching for what the kids wanted, shark. Well, the kids caught a ton of jacks, some used for bait, and set out one line. After a while we saw one big bull shark come up and I pitched a bait to it. As expected, moments later the massive brown shape took the bait, the line came tight and we were on a sleighride. The fight lasted an hour and we had to deal with a couple of rain squalls. In the end the big bull cut us off on a crab trap bouy. After this we called it a day since the storms were rolling fast and steady. Capt. November 11, 2017 Report

Today I fished with Ed and his friend. We had some breeze and cloud cover but I was looking forward to a productive day on the water. Well, while we did catch fish, the day was slower than I would like. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing
