March 25, 2019 Report
I fished with Tom today and his son and had a blast. I looked for tarpon but that was slow so we switched it up and they caught some fish but the highlight was a huge jack that blasted a top water bait and his son fought like a champ until he uttered the words "This will look awesome on my Instagram.". No sooner had he said that, the massive jack broke him off. Wow, that sucked!

Tarpon, let's look for tarpon is what I told Peter and Alexis so off to find tarpon. Well, they made me look bad today with only a few fish around so we changed it up and caught snappers and Peter landed a nice jack on artificial lures.

Back on David's boat and new fish junkie Kevin was aboard. With great conditions we looked for tarpon and found a ton of fish. However, they were on a diet. But, we set up on a school of tarpon that was huge, dropped a bait in front of them and I hear Kevin say, "Oh, I'm on!". Yes, tarpon! Wait, no jumps, long runs down deep. Then, pink breaks the surface and he had a slob mutton snapper that ate the tarpon bait. Well, that was awesome and they had a great dinner!

Scott and local angler Mark were back on board after about a year and off we went to find tarpon. We found them and tons of them! In the process we were throwing flies and got two solid bites next to the boat but they didn't stay on. What;s going on here?

Back on the water today and today Tim from N.C. jumped aboard. We had a pretty stiff breeze so we decided to ditch the fly rod and use bait. Well, it worked. I found some tarpon, set up and Tim hooked two mooses, losing both on the jumps. Urgh, tough day!

It was Creighton's birthday today and his wife was nice enough to get him a fishing trip while they were in town. We met up early and beat the traffic to a tarpon spot where they were stacked up! Creigh was throwing fly and got a couple of bites but no hook ups.

March 17, 2019 Report (Tarpon Video)
After my last trip I really needed to be redeemed and I had two trips today to get it done. My morning trip was with James and Wesley from Ky and they wanted tarpon. I went back to a spot where the tarpon have been thick and friendly and we hooked 3 and landed two during hour four hour trip including a 45 minute fight with James' fish and about an hour on Wesley's fish. The guys did well and I started to feel better already.
Joel, Travis and Carlos joined me for the afternoon trip and they asked "what's biting?". Tarpon! I took them back to the morning spot and Carlos hooked another nice fish and after a 40 minute fight and tag teaming with Travis, we got their first tarpon. Along the way we missed another bite and, caught a mackerel and lost a big jack that ate a plug as they were destroying schools of bait.
