April 8, 2019 AM & PM Reports
AM Report
Tom has fished with me three times. The first time he had his 5' shark get eaten next to the boat by an 8' bull shark. Last year he got a big tarpon with me. This year however, he was recovering from some bruised ribs so we targeted bonefish. Chumming for bonefish produced small sharks but no bones so we changed it up catching a bunch of snappers and a nice jack that well, brusied his ribs further. Sorry Tom! LOL
PM Report
My afternoon trip was with Rohan and his mom. Well, last time we fished they caught two big tarpon on a half day trip and wore them out. Our goal was different this year, they wanted dinner and lots of action. So, we hit a spot and just tore up the mangrove snappers. They kept a couple to take to a restaurant and I took home six. At the end of the trip we hit another spot where Rohan hooked and fought a 30lb jack for 20 minutes but the jack spit the hook next to the boat as I was ready to land it for a pic.

I had Fred today who wanted to fly fish but also wanted to catch fish so we would mix it up. We targeted tarpon and bonefish but not being able to connect we hot a wreck and got a bend in the fly rod.

Today was a rough one, but my guys Dan and John made up for it and were awesome to fish with. This was a half day of shark and barracuda fishing with a second boat as part of the trip. Spot one was to catch bait and we did. Then we hit a barracuda flat and caught one and lost a huge one. Off to the flats where we had TONS of sharks behind the boat but most wouldn't eat. We did hook two and lost them both. As we hooked the second one, it was a big one we had to chase. As I tried to start the boat the batteries were dead. HUH? I charge the batteries every night! Eventually the big lemon broke off and I was left licking my wounds. Using the trolling motor battery to start the engine we ran home on time and got back safe. What a day!

Today's full day charter was supposed to be a fly charter but the wind had other plans for us so we stuck to spin and bait. Adam and Matt were a blast so we hot a number of spots catching snappers, jacks, and sharks as well as targeting tarpon, permit and other species. I have to tell you, these guys were hilarious and as I always say, "What happens on the boat, stays in the boat."

Carig and his little boy were my morning trip and the goal was to get his boy on fish. We had a great time catching snappers and jacks in the lee of the wind and his boy stated several times he hadn't caught that many fish in his life. Awesome!
PM Report
Right after my morning trip, regular client George hopped aboard and off we went to tarpon fish. The conditions would have made bonefishing difficult to we decided to go for tarpon. Well, we found the fish and along the way caught a couple of mackerel and missed a big from a hog of a tarpon before heading in.

Smokin Joe and Mike from Ohio joined me today for a morning of just bending rods and having a blast and we did both. The morning started with some bonefishing but the high water nullified the calm morning making it tough to find the silver bullets. Shallow wrecks were next on the agenda and that was a blast with both guys catching some fish and we wrapped it up on the flats for sharks. These guys were a blast and I can't wait to fish with them again.

April 1, 2019 April Fools Report, what do you think?
April Fools everyone. The conditions today could not be more perfect with clear skies, virtually no wind and great people on board. The great people were Raja and Emily from NY and we have fished several time together. With these conditions Raja wanted bonefish and I was more than thrilled about it. So, we hit the first shoreline and immediately started seeing schools of bonefish moving through. After a few shots, Raja got one and broke the ice. What a relief! For the rest of the trip we had more shots but couldn't connect. I love bonefishing!
