August 4, 2019 Report (Bonefish Video)
Chris and I have been fishing for 6 or 7 years now and we always have a great time. Born and raised in South Miami, at 78 years old he has seen and experienced a lot. Add to that the fact that we both love local history and it makes for great conversations. Well, we stated off bonefishing and had a few schools move through leaving us with only one take and we lost that fish. BUT, another school moved through and Chris hooked up landing about a 10lb bonefish. Way to go Chris! The day ended with a shot at a nice permit.

Today was an abbreviated trip with Rich and his two boys, 7 year old Avan and 12 year old Dante. I took them to a nearby shipwreck right by Key Biscayne and got a fast start with the boys catching snappers and blue runners. However, we had to make a mad dash for the marina in order to avoid a nasty rain storm.

July 29, 2019 Report (Crazy start!)
What a crazy morning with Colin and Fisher from Texas! Starting to bonefish we poled down a shoreline and noticed a red bobber floating around. A school of bonefish cruised just past it and as I poled closer to the school and bobber moved. After missing our shots at the bonefish, I poled towards the line trailing he bobber. Colin grabbed it and the fish took off! However, since there was about 60 feet of line trailing I quickly tied the line to a rod and handed the rod to Fisher. Seconds later he was on! After long fight he boated a huge barracuda. What a shock!!!!! That was awesome! Hitting a different flat, they hooked and lost two sharks and Fisher landed another 'cuda. How about that for a morning?!

July 27, 2019 Report (Bonefish Video)
I had Mike and his 10 year old grandson Webb aboard as part of a two boat trip. They had bonefish in mind and we had perfect conditions for just that. After taking some shots at a bunch of bonefish, they shook the rust off and Mike was the first one to score. After a healthy release of his first bonefish ever Webb was next. We had more opportunities and finally Webb made a great cast, had some patience and hooked up! After a nice fight, Webb released his first bonefish ever. The total tally for the day was 5 bites, 3 hook ups and two fish released. What a morning but more importantly, what an accomplishment for a 10 year old. Webb is very good casting and a great young little fisherman and I am so very proud of him!

July 25, 2019 Report (Bonefish Video!)
I was pretty excited today to fish with David and his son Joseph (that's two Josephs on consecutive days) and I got them out of bed early. With a 6:30AM start, the guys were on about 3 hours sleep but they sure didn't show it. Armed with spinning rods the guys got on the bow and had shots at bonefish but conditions were not ideal. However, as we poled along I saw a subtle disturbance in the water and the guys cast, moments later David was on to a bonefish as it screamed away at almost 30 MPH. After a long fight we boated the slob bonefish. Some shots later I see a flash to my left, Joseph cast and he got a bite but missed it. Later we hit a snapper and saw something I rarely get to see out here. But, you'll have to watch the video to find out!

July 24, 2019 Report (Bonefish Fest, Video!)
Jose and his son Joseph are local Miami anglers and we had rescheduled a few times due to weather but today was the day. It was red hot bonefishing from the moment we got on the flat and never moved for 4 hours. Joseph got his first bonefish, 3 to be exact and Jose got one and hooked 5. What a morning of perfect conditions, good anglers and hungry bonefish!

July 21, 2019 Report
Sunday is the busiest day in the bay so when Glenn and his family jumped aboard, it was time to make a long run south and get away from it all. Glenn and his family were on a quick vacation since Glenn is in between jobs right now. See, last yer he played for the Detroit Pistons and he just got signed by the Golden State Warriors. Also, on the agenda was dinner so the first spot produced plenty of snapper but not big ones. However, Jaden and Glenn both got to fight two barracudas in the 20lb range. The last spot was money as Glenn landed a solid mutton snapper for dinner. Way to go guys!
