Kendall had booked a 1/2 day charter with me in order to take her son Liam fishing. Liam is 8 years old and he is a fishing machine. I wanted to stay away from the bigger tarpon that would be really difficult for him to land so we focused on snook but they seemed to be out spawning already and not at the areas where I typically target them out of the wind. Although it was pretty windy today we did find some areas where Liam caught a whole bunch of different species including yellow Jacks, mutton snappers, jack crevales and more and we had a very cool trip with him staying busy and trying to outfish his mom. |

I had the pleasure of fishing with Rodney and Lee for 2 days and they were so much fun to hang out with. On the 1st day Lee didn't even want the fish he just wanted to sit back and relax while Rodney did most of fishing and picked up quite a few fish along the way. We had started tarpon fishing but that proved to be slow and the snook were MIA. On the 2nd day we repeated the process but we tried to bonefish for a while and saw a couple of schools move through but it proved to be slow so we turned our attention to just catching fish and had another nice day on the water. |

This morning I was fishing with local client Alec. He wanted to try fly fishing for bonefish since he has caught plenty of bonefish with me on spin so we went for it. We had perfect conditions and there were bonefish swimming everywhere but it was one of those days where every cast was just a little short. Once that fishing slowed down we tried to target permit but the weather was getting worse and although we poled around in the rain for a while we decided to call it a day.. |

Today I had 2 trips out of the ocean reef club in Key Largo. My morning trip started with Andrew who wanted to break in his new flyrod on a tarpon. We had just about perfect tarpon conditions with cloudy skies calm winds and it was hot and muggy. I took him to my 1st spot and sure enough the tarpon were there rolling all over the place and after setting up on a few different schools Andrew finally hooked up . As the fish ran, a part of his butt section broke off and he remembered that he had been meaning to replace it. Ouch that hurt. My afternoon trip was with Tim and Mark and these guys were awesome so we focused on bonefishing. Tim hooked a nice fish and got it to the boat but the fish broke off as it got under the boat and by the trim tab. Then not long after Mark hooked a big bonefish but it came off almost immediately. Finally with almost no time left and us having to head in Tim hooks up again and finally gets his bonefish. Close call! |

The goal, relax and catch some fish for Lisa, Stina and Marsha. The weather had settled a bit and allowed me to make a run a few miles south of the marina where the fishing started off good but slowed down. That seemed to be the theme today, a spot would start off good then slow down forcing us to move around a bit and keep the action going. In the end, they all caught a nice amount of fish and were definitely relaxed as they kept laughing throughout the entire trip.

Fun day today with Kris and company as we fished out of Key Biscayne and caught yellow jacks, snapper, porgies and more. The tide was right for tarpon but the wind was a bit much to fish the bridge and the snook were MIA in the protected areas away from the wind.
