August 3, 2016 Report
I love fishing with kids and today was one of those days. Marc and his 2 boys 20 year old Alex and 13 year old Wyatt jumped aboard for a half day of fishing in order to celebrate Wyatt's 13th birthday today. We fished two spots and at the first spot Alex landed a cool black tip shark and although there were plenty of Tarpon around we could not get a bite. We moved on to the second and last spot of the day where immediately Wyatt hooked a 60 pound Tarpon that burned up the drag and gave him an awesome jump just 30 feet from the boat. Unfortunately the jump resulted in a pulled hook and the tarpon swam free. However, in order to make up for that Wyatt caught two big jacks that gave him quite a workout and we got a few more bites from fish that were too clever to get hooked. Happy birthday Wyatt!
