This is what November is like November 6, 2023

The weather from my last trip finally broke and was replaced by perfect November conditions.  Thankfully I had Rob from Boston who brought his fly rod and wanted to target bonefish and permit.  Conditions were way off for permit so we focused on bonefish.  The first spot was dead and I started to get a bit anxious hoping it would be a good day.  Spot two was actually pretty good with Rob quickly landing two smaller bonefish on fly.  As I poled him around we could see the puffs on the bottom from bonefish we were spooking out but couldn't see due to very high water levels and a bit of overcast conditions.  eventually we saw another school and Rob snipe one out of the school.  We're up to three bonefish at this point.  The fishing slowed down and we fished another flat where ti was dead.  As soon as I started to consider moving on I saw a big single bone, then a school and then a few more.  The schools were moving pretty consistently and eventually rob got another three on this flat bringing our total to 6 before we headed in.  Six Miami bonefish on fly, ha, I'll take that every day!
