Well, for the guys out there reading this report, I hope you survived Valentine's Day. What a stressful day but thankfully we have fishing. The month of February has gotten off to a fast start with warmer than usual weather and very stable weather, read no cold fronts and the nasty weather that go with them. Overall fishing has been pretty solid so far this month. On the flats, bonefishing has been exceptionally consistent with my anglers averaging 3-5 bonefish per trip, that's SOLID! The snook fishing in Biscayne Bay has been a bit slow but as I write that I remember a trip a few days ago where we missed 4-5 snook bites on top water lures early morning. The tarpon fishing hasn't been great but most of the solid fishing has been at night. The few times I tarpon fished were terrible weather conditions in 20 MPH winds so my sample size is a bit small. However, with clearing weather the tarpon should start to get active. The finger channels have been fun but most of the fish have been small so I haven't been doing a ton of snapper fishing. That's a wrap for the first half of the month. Stay tuned for the end of month report.
