February 4th, 2018 Report (Video)

Another unusually windy February day this morning but Mark and Scott jumped aboard ready to catch some fish. Being too Breezy to fish for Tarpon off the beach we decided for the next best thing and target spinner sharks which I affectionately call brown tarpon. Catching some bait we ran over to the shark spot and immediately began to hook fish. After hooking several we got one to the boat and got the fun part out of another two fish mainly big arial jumps. Way to go guys! Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

February 2, 2018 Report

Teddy jumped aboard today out of Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo and we had just absolutely ideal conditions for Bonefish. With slick calm water and a dropping tide we headed towards the mangrove shorelines and there were plenty of Bonefish cruising around. After a number of shots at big fish Teddy finally hooked up but deep into the initial run the 10 + pound Bonefish broke him off. The wind started to pick up after this so we had to run back ahead of an approaching cold front but Teddy is absolutely hooked on bone fishing out and who could blame him!

I was back on David's boat today and after catching some bait we decided to try to get his brother-in-law Norman on some sharks. In spite of our best attempts the Bay was shut down today and there were no sharks to hook today. Capt. Mo Estevez www.MiamiBoneFishing.com 786-853-1409 Follow me on Instagram @MiamiBoneFishing

January 27, 2018 Report

Today I was fishing with David from the UK and the goal was to do some Bonefish. However we had a significant obstacle ahead of us as the wind was blowing 37 miles an hour gusting even higher. But David was all in for bonefishing so we started our half-day making a long run down to the Bonefish flats and tucking in behind a key in an area that is usually pretty good for bone fishing. We gave it about 2 hours of chumming and looking for bones but none showed up except for a small shark that David landed. With time running out we decided to change it up and get some fish to bend rods so we headed back closer to the marina where we finished the day catching a bunch of fish and being glad we were able to find a way around this wind. January 25, 2018 Report ( Crazy video finale! )

Well, yesterday we had a nice day on the water weather wise, today not so much. We had steady 30 MPH winds and gusting higher as Jason and Robert jumped into the skiff and we idled out of the marina. I took them to a permit spot protected from the wind but no one was home. There was only one other spot I could take them to and it paid off. Here the guys caught some nice jacks on lures and then a massive 8 foot bull shark that took the guys an hour and 50 minutes to land. Watch the video for the craziness and a surprise ending. Capt. January 24, 2018 Report ( Video! )

Back on David's boat we had his nephews Jonah and Charlie. Again, David really wanted them to experience shark fishing so shark fishing we did. We hooked several spinner sharks, 9 or so, and landed none. What? Well, when spinner sharks jump they tend to wrap the line around themselves and break off but the guys had a great time and experience the brown fury of Miami shark fishing.

Today I had a cool client on board, Maura from CT. She wanted to chase bonefish, tarpon or permit but with 68 degree water and high winds bonefish was going to be our best bet. We got to one of my favorite spots and had a few schools move in and on one of them Maura finally hooked up. As I was stretching to net the bonefish the hook pulled and the dude swam free before we got the photo op. URGH!!!! The rest of the trip was slow so we headed in at the end of our 4 hour trip. Capt.
