May 27, 2016 Report
Jason from Jacksonville wanted to catch mutton snappers, not 12" snappers, big mutton snappers so off we went. The first spot was close to South Beach and although we caught a few fish there were no muttons around so we decided to change it up. We spent a little bit of time fishing some grass last for sea trout and although we caught a couple, it was slow so we decided to get back on track and focus on muttons. Making a long run south we got to the area that I like and it became a very frustrating endeavor as we ended up losing 6 big muttons to broken lines but mostly pulled hooks. At one point we could see two big muttons close to the boat and not committing to the bait. What a frustrating day, good action but no results! He did land a nice big barracuda on lure that gave him a nice fight!
