'Glades Grand Slam and More! May 28, 2020 With Video
Here we go again! I was excited to get Alec down to the Everglades and have him experience what has been a hot May for snook and reds. Well, knowing what was going to happen we started off looking for trout but it took a few spots because the wind and rain of the last few days had the water looking like chocolate. Once I found clean water he quickly landed a few trout and no the game plan changed. With the tide dropping I began to work some flats for snook and redfish using artificials. I have to tell you, we were suffering from rubber hook syndrome for a stretch here because we lost the first 5 or 6 reds and snook he hooked. Never the less, once that got sorted out he quickly landed a snook and a few casts later he landed a redfish. Dang, grand slam complete and the fishing still wasn't good yet! The rest of the day was icing on the cake as we lost track of the snook released, Alec stopped counting at around a dozen and there were many more after that, got plenty of reds and lost quite a few more fish and missed some amazing strikes. Off day I guess! LOL
