It's been two years since Paul fished in Biscayne bay and I was glad he chose me as his guide for our full day trip. The target species was bonefish and permit so we went for bonefish first under prefect conditions. Not long into the morning Paul had 7 bonefish under his belt on his own spin tackle before we decided to look for permit now that we had great visibility. It took about 20 minutes to cross the bay to the oceanside flat I wanted to fish for permit and it took about that long for storm cells to start to form. Come on! Anyway, with limited visibility Paul had a shot at a big permit so we were pumped. Except, there was a huge storm to our north building towards the marina threatening to close us out and then lighting began to crackle. Hmmm, we looked at each other and decided to head back early and fish 6 hours instead. We had a heck of a morning and made the right decision to barely beat that really nasty storm.
