August 29, 2014 Report

Steve from Miami hadn't fished Biscayne Bay before and wanted to experience it first hand. We started looking for bonefish but the few schools we saw were too close for a good shot. Towards the end of the trip we staked our and waited for permit, bones and shark to move through. After a while the sharks moved in but they were acting very skittish and wouldn't eat perfectly presented baits. In the meantime a stingray moves through with a permit riding its back. We made three good casts and all three were refused by the permit. Urgh! Finally the sharks started to eat and Steve ended up hooking four big sharks. The last shark ate 30 minutes before our trip was over and it was a big one. An hour and 20 minutes later Steve releases a BIG 7' about 200lb shark. What a way to end the trip!
