Today I had John and his son Brunson on board for a half day of bonefishing in the afternoon. Brunson is 14 years old and showed up in crutches and a leg brace from a skiing injury but the boy plays hurt! John was on the fly rod and Brunson on spin as we hit the flats. We only fished two flats as they produced a bunch of bonefish but even being a Friday, the first four flats I wanted to fish had skiffs on them already. Anyway, John and Brunson had plenty of shots at mudding bonefish and half way through the trip I asked if they wanted to continue bonefishing or change it up. Well, Brunson was hooked and decided to ride out the rest of the trip looking for bonefish. Although we couldn't capitalize on our opportunities, Brunson kept mentioning how he loves to bonefish. WOW!
