October 14, 2015 Report (Snook!)
Doug from TN was in town for business and swam against the current. While the rest of the guys went golfing, Doug went fishing. Good move Doug! Starting off South Beach for the mullet run proved to be slow since nothing ate our fly. Moving to tarpon spot two produced a few jacks on the fly rod and then we hit the tarpon mother load. Fish in the 20-60lb class were all over the boat rolling just 20' from the boat. We tried a number flies and had a few bites but no hook ups. Tarpon spot #2 was desolate so it was snook time. Doug decided it was better to catch fish than to stick to fly so we cast netted some bait and hit the creeks. Several snook hit our baits losing one to the mangroves and landing a nice one before we called it a day.
